Announcement for the 4th Lunar Polar Exploration Workshop

Lunar Polar Exploration Pre-Project Team

JAXA Space Exploration Center

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency

JAXA has been studying an international collaborative mission with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The main objective of the mission is to explore the lunar polar regions to obtain data on the quantity and quality of water in order to determine whether lunar water resources can be used for sustainable space exploration activities in the future.
Lunar Polar Exploration Workshops have previously been held three times in the past, as a forum for discussion to gather opinions from participants from various fields in order to improve our mission. We are now pleased to announce that we will hold the 4th Lunar Polar Exploration Workshop on March 22. In this workshop, we will report on the latest status of the study and introduce the instruments to investigate the potential water resources on the Moon. The workshop will include an invited lecture from ISRO, and host a panel discussion. JAXA is considering opening a call for proposals and suggestions for experiments and simulations that should be conducted before the mission, and for the analysis of obtained data from the mission. We look forward to seeing you there.
